Ip Man (Yip Man)
Watch Ip Man on yesterday (Friday) with Guet Cheng. Initially wanted to watch Beverly Hills Chihuahua but the the position of the seats available was not suitable. In Malaysian cinemas, you have to be 18 and above to watch Ip Man, but we didn't realize until we are about to enter the cinema hall!! The guy behind the ticketing counter just sold it to us. I suppose we look older than our actual age or he doesn't care. The movie is about Yip Man who is highly skilled in the Wing Chun style of kung fu. This is based on a true story and is set during the 1935-1945 period. Apparently, one of Yip Man's students was the one and only Bruce Lee!! Generally, the movie was okay. There is plenty of action as this is a kung fu movie. Yip Man is virtually unbeatable in the movie. I also completed most of my Christmas shopping (whew!!) while in 1 Utama.
In exactly one week, I will off to National Service. 3 months without computer, radio, TV and driving. I just want to enjoy my stint as a NS trainee and get it over with.

East Malaysia trip
The very, very small Mulu airport
(Excluding the airstrips, it is smaller than an average semi-D house)
(Excluding the airstrips, it is smaller than an average semi-D house)
The East Malaysia trip lasted for a week. First Miri, Mulu, back to Miri and then Kota Kinabalu. Within Sarawak & Sabah, there is only one flight service: MasWings.
This is the view from my window seat in the journey from Miri to Mulu
All in all, it was a smooth trip. Unless you count my dad breaking his glasses on the first day. Not only that, I think I seen enough caves to last me for a lifetime. In Mulu, if you don't see caves, then you got nothing else to do. Seriously. Mulu is so kampung-ish and is surrounded by vast amout of tropical forest. All the supplies such as Milo, rice, petrol, drinking water etc are all flown in. In Miri, there are a lot of oil and timber tycoons. Miri is a much bigger town than Mulu, but it is still quite boring. Kota Kinabalu is undergoing rapid development. Walking in the city during daytime, its like slogging it out back in KL (minus the skyscrapers). If you are wondering why I wasn't at prom, this East Malaysia trip was one of the three reasons.

Taylor's Open Day
Yeah, I went to Taylor's Open Day today just for fun. Serious. Since I got nothing better to do, my parents pushed me to attend the Open Day. So I called up Guet Cheng and we both went to Taylor's Subang Jaya. We attended two talks: one about design (presented by someone big from Ikea) and another about communication (presented by Allan Wu himself). There were a lot of people in the communication talk, which leads me to suspect that most of them were there to see Allan Wu personally.
Sorry, I didn't bring any camera to take Allan's picture but let me tell you this: Allan Wu changed his hairstyle (hair was dyed brown and no longer spiky) and he looks less good-looking in reality. But he is fit and in very good shape. After the talk it was already 2.30pm, and we wanted something to eat. However, Guet and I did not know Subang Jaya well, so we ended up returning to DJ to makan.
My maternal grandmother is currently in hospital for suspected heart attack. My mum and siblings went back to Taiping for a day trip to visit her. I hope and pray that everything will be fine.

I Can't Believe It
I can't believe it, but I am sick, during post-SPM period!!! For the past few days I suddenly had a loss of appetite and frequent migrain. But Thank God I am feeling better, though not 100% myself yet. Kinda boring when you are sick and can't do much.
Just registered for SAM in Taylor's Subang Jaya today with my dad. Even with the RM 10,000 waiver from the Principal Awards my dad had to cough up close to RM 5000 for Semester 1. Private colleges are really, really expensive. I will only become a 'college student' in March as I have the luck to be elected for NS. But never mind, I think NS will be fun and hopefully it will be a great learning experience for me. To all those who got elected for NS, my advice is that don't differ and hope that you never get called up. What if you are already 19 or 20 and you receive a letter stating that you must hadir for NS? It will be an absolute nightmare.
Been playing a lot of Age of Empires 3: The Asian Dynasties lately. I am really getting bored of it. Since I am hit by a mystery bug that gives me appetite loss and migrains, I am stuck inside my house reading, writing, blogging, watching TV, and playing PC games. I can't wait till my brother's friend lend us Red Alert 3.
On Sunday I am going to East Malaysia with my family for one week. Yeah, its a holiday trip. I hope I won't be too sick for it.

The End
SPM has come to an end. Today I just sat for my last paper, which was Prinsip Perakaunan. Finally!! I can afford to put my legs up and rest properly. But not for long. I am definitely fatter and heavier, so I have to continue from the Battle of the SPM to the Battle of the Bulge. Anyway, I have to report for NS on 27 November. My campsite is Mantin, Negri Sembilan. As farI know, Kah Vong, Cheok Tung, Jia Hong and Neal are all in the same camp and batch as me. Good-lah, at least not so boring :-)

Study, Study, Study.. or not
With SPM looming in the horizon, everyone should be studying like crazy, right? Not me. For some reason, I am just so relaxed. I am still studying and revising at my own pace. When I am studying, I take a lot of breaks in between, so in the end, I did not cover much. Is this good or bad? I am feeling unmotivated and kinda lazy to study.
I don't want to read school books anymore..the endless list of facts and information that needs to be stored somewhere in my brain is making me feel depressed.
Football with small kids
What was suppose to be a game between Form 5s and a few selected non-Form 5s was disrupted because:
#1 The field was overcrowded with SKTM kids
#2 The terrible condition of the pitch
#3 The SKTM kids wanted to play, so we didn't want to be rude...in the end, it was more like kampung football with kids

Abandoned
It's the second time it had happened to me in the space of a year.
It's the fourth time I am forced to pick myself up after helplessly seeing my hopes shatter and break into a million pieces.
I don't believe in curses, karma and jinxes but this certainly had me questioning my beliefs. I wonder whether I am am forever fated to come to a dead end in these 'issues'. I won't pretend this was a big blow. Once again, its over. Goodbye. Adios.
The dark clouds are over me. I am at the receiving end of the battering rainfall. I can feel it, forever a painful reminder of my failure.
I am sore. Anger pulsed through my head. The bitter taste of defeat is fresh on my tongue. Once bitter, twice as dangerous. I won't be easily swayed next time. Mark my words.

Double Whammy
After 3 weeks of a grueling exam period, I finally can afford to put up my leg and rest, at least for a while. On Saturday, I went to 1 Utama twice in the same day. Initially, I went there at 12pm for a futsal match. Then, I went to PJEFC for a short play called 'A Second Chance'. To be honest, the cast did a good job but the play just wasn't inspiring and touching.
After that, I was suppose to follow Bob Rick home but he decided to go to 1 Utama with fellow church members (namely Jia Hong, Grace Lee, Grace Chow, Kassandra) and Li Wen + Neal
So in the end I tagged along to 1 Utama
Today is the Lantern/Mooncake Festival.
The Lantern Festival is also known as the Little New Year since it marks the end of the series of celebrations starting from the Chinese New Year. The Koreans celebrate this festival as the Daeboreum.
Reasons why I love this festival:
#1 Mooncakes (yummy)
#2 Lanterns
#3 I get to chill and my parents won't force me to study :-)
Anyway, I have to prepare myself for Gerak Gempur. Come to think of it, I looking forward to SPM. I want to get this over with and take a good long rest. After that, I got NS to look forward to. Besides that, I have to prepare for the Taylor's Principal Award scholarship interview. I need Rabin!!! :-)
Good Night!!

Of Exams and Trials
I am back blogging...after a three week absence. By right, I am suppose to be studying, since its trials but all work and no play makes Jeric a dull boy :-)
anyway, just to let you know, I was 'lucky' enough to be chosen to participate in National Service. A lot of J's I know kena NS like Jack, Justin L, Justin C, Jia Hong, Jung Xin, Jason and maybe more. Its not that I mind since I am a fan of physical activities and such, its because its going to disrupt my plans for 2009.
Also, I just passed my driving test. I can now legally drive!!! I took the exam on the Monday before the trials and luckily, I aced the test. If not, I will have to retake and waste my time waiting for my turn for the exam.
I would also like to comment on Malaysia's recent outing in the Beijing Olympics. Malaysia's achievement: 0 gold, 1 silver and 0 bronze. In contrast, China have a whopping 51 gold medals, 21 silver medals and 28 bronze medals. Really, Malaysia Boleh huh? And for the silver medal winner of Malaysia, he is now a Datuk and have a 6 figure bank account. Just for a silver? I think its too much. Anyway, Chong Wei, you still won a medal, so great job.
Also, I would like to salute our unsung heroes in our community. Today, I saw a few workers braving the dizzying height and obvious danger to fix the electrical transmission cables behing my house. Truly, without them, we will have no steady supply of electricity.
KGC u r great

Time to update
To make up for the weeks I did not update my blog, I will let the photos do the talking.
National Robotics Competition (NRC)
It was on 22/7. I seriously can't believe that my team consisting of Lerg Foong, Naj and me actually got 10th. It's even harder to believe Jin Howe's team beat my team :-( and achieved 9th.
PRS Camp
I was the reluctant Brownchoc phtographer for this camp. Brownchoc promised to pay me for my services, but where's my money? Juz joking, guys. Anyway, there are a lot of random Brownchoc pictures below, so BEWARE :-)

I know, it looks wrong. This is a scene from the drama performed by Zhao Wen's group.
